Michael Stephen Gorman

Michael Stephen Gorman, age 47, beloved son and father, passed away in his sleep from an undiagnosed heart arrhythmia on June 26, 2023, in Chicago, Illinois. Michael is survived by his two loving daughters- Cathryn and Madison, his brother Mark and his family, and his brokenhearted mother and stepfather, Marcie Sothern Gorman-Althof, and Dr. Stan Althof.

Michael was born in Good Samaritan Hospital in West Palm Beach in July 1975 and graduated as the Salutatorian from Santaluces High School in 1993. At Santaluces High School, Michael developed his love for live theatre productions while also playing football and developing a strong network of lifelong friends.

Michael went on to Columbia University in New York for his Bachelor of Science degree and then to The Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania for his Master of Business Administration, specializing in healthcare.

After graduating from The Wharton School, Michael moved to Chicago to begin a family and his career. Michael owned and ran a consulting company and worked for several financial corporations before acquiring and becoming CEO of Challenge Behavioral Healthcare, an outpatient drug and alcohol treatment center in Chicago.

Michael was also an avid Miami Dolphins fan.

Michael is buried next to his maternal grandmother, Carole Sothern, in Lantana, Florida.

Michael left us far too soon and is greatly missed by so many.
