Hi Grandpa!

I miss you so much =). Every little tiny thing makes me think about you. I still have trouble accepting the fact that you are gone and like I said before, I won’t. I just look at it as if it’s just a long time we went without seeing each other. I hope it is okay that I am writing to you all the time; this may not be the most acceptable spot but I know it’s the ONE place where you will always be looking. It’s so much more magical flying now, I wish you knew. In less than ten days, I will be licensed to fly in the clouds. Which means I can fly through the bad weather, at a higher altitude, AND much closer to you. Triple score =). I love flying. It means so much more when you have a second destination in mind besides the next airport. You may not always be able to complete the course to that destination (you) but it is nice to think about. Maybe I should become an astronaut instead. No, I don’t think I would like that. Those space suits are kinda creepy looking =). I’ll keep my wings.

Now I can see why God would want you closer to him, because you were truly an angel on Earth. I was at Starbucks the other day, and I overheard this old man talking to a young man and he said some very wise words that kinda stuck to me. He said, “Success in life is being truly missed and remembered long after you are gone. The good die young so they can get to heaven early and watch over the rest of us.” Why he said this, I have no idea. But the more I thought about it, the more I thought about you. Well Grandpa, I just wanted to let you know that you have succeeded. You are very much missed and will always be remembered. Oh, and thank you for watching over the rest of us =). I’ll always know that when I’m looking up at the stars at night, that you are also looking down at me, Tara, Jessica, Anthony, Patrick, Nicole and Nick and everyone else. You have truly inspired us to be who we are today – you definitely left your mark.

“He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. Heaven must be beautiful because he always takes the best. He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes. He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. For part of us went with you on the day God called you home.”

Well, God found his missing angel.

Love you and Miss you,
Samantha

In Loving Memory of My Grandpa,
You were so full of life,
Always smiling and carefree.
Life loved you being a part of it,
And I loved you being a part of me.
You could make anyone laugh,
If they were having a bad day.
No matter how sad they were,
You could take the hurt away.
Nothing could ever stop you,
Or even make you fall.
You were ready to take on the world,
Ready to do it all.
But God decided he needed you,
So from this world you left.
But you took a piece of all of us,
Our hearts are what you kept.
Your seat is now empty,
And its hard not to see your face.
But please always know this,
No one will ever take your place.
You left without a warning,
Not even saying goodbye.
And I cant seem to stop,
Asking the questions why.
Nothing will ever be the same,
My life is empty without your laughter.
But I know you’re up in heaven,
Watching over us and looking after.
I didn’t see this coming,
It hit me by surprise.
And when you left this world,
A small part of us died.
Your smile could brighten anyone’s day,
No matter what they were going through.
And I know everyday for the rest of my life,
I will be missing you.

hi grandpa!

it occured to me today that you have been gone for a couple months now, but i guess it takes a while for someone to really disappear. and i remember exactly where i was when the word came about you. it was a day much like today, the sun was bright and the sky was blue. i remember my heart sinking and my back slamming against the wall and my body dropping to the floor. but, i wonder how you're doing up there grandpa.. i fly pretty much everyday now and everytime i take off runway 25 at the daytona beach airport, theres always that tear that falls out of my left eye but theres also that smile ~ that smile that will never ever leave =)

grandma also went to kentucky a while ago and she told me she was thinking of you during the flight while she was on her way down there. thanks for bringing her back safe =) she misses you more than anything else in this world.

there were some things that i wanted to tell you that i never had gotten the chance too. i wish there was someway to talk to you. and i'd give anything if i just knew...

and since calling your name wont bring you back, i guess its time to take away those tears. and yes, it hurts sooo bad to have to let you go. but you know what? it just would have been so much more selfish to keep you here... =(

your candle burned out long before your legend ever did - we still miss you. forever and ever =)

Heaven must be an even more wonderful place now that you're there because I know that the world is a lot less beautiful without you by our side...

And so i'll place beside you twelve roses. Eleven of them will be real, and the last one will be a fake rose. I will love you until that last one dies.

I love you Grandpa. xo

Marie and family, you have my deepest sympathy. Your grief goes beyond what words can express.

There's nothing anyone can say,
and nothing we can do
to heal your broken hearts

Fina, your husband taught me how to find a backyard of grass, and make a beautiful garden out of it. He taught me how to grow my own vegetables for your grandchildren. He taught me everything I know, and I'll never forget. He's our angel now. Love Sherri

God broke our hearts to prove to us that he only takes the best. I can't wait until the next time I go flying up in the sky, because it will only bring me one step closer to you. I didn't get the chance to say goodbye, and I'm not going to because goodbye means forever. I'll see you again some day Grandpa, but until then, I love you and miss you nonno.
