Marie B. Interrante nee Lala, 96, of Chicago passed away peacefully on January 30, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. Marie was born on April 28, 1929 to Anthony and Josephine Lala. She was married to her loving husband, Carlo Interrante for 61 years. She missed him terribly after his passing in September 2024. A lifelong Chicagoan, Marie attended Waller High School and worked as an executive secretary for insurance companies and financial investment management companies.

Marie was an avid card player, reader, knitter, a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan and was a lector for many years at Queen of All Saints Basilica. She loved crossword puzzles, word games and playing canasta with her girlfriends. She enjoyed family vacations for over 50 years to Door County, Wisconsin. She volunteered at Haugan Elementary School in Albany Park reading to children. She was also a generous contributor and volunteer at St. Joseph Carondelet and Misericordia.

Marie is survived by four generations of nieces and nephews, her wonderful caregiver Ermie and countless friends and neighbors.

Marie is preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Josephine Lala, her siblings Joe and Virginia Lala, Frank and DeAnna Lala, Tom and Josephine nee Lala Kelley, and Fred and Sadie nee Lala Vitale.

Visitation will be Tuesday February 3, 2026 from 4-8 at Smith-Corcoran Funeral Home 6150 N Cicero, Chicago Illinois 60646. Mass will be held on Wednesday February 4, at 10:00 at Queen of Saints Basilica 6280 N. Sauganash Ave, Interment All Saints Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials in Marie's name would be appreciated toward Misericordia. For information www.smithcorcoran.com or 773.736.3833.
