To the family of Mike Lalich,

Please accept my deepest sympathy over the loss of your husband and father. I remember him well -- and I know that he and my Dad were friends for years.

I apologize for not attending his wake. I only learned that he passed away when I was talking to my friend -- Nick Rakich -- this past Sunday (July 19th).

Mr. Lalich was a good man, who always had a kind word for everyone. I am sure that he and my Dad are having a shot of "Slivo" together in Heaven right now.

Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with all of you. May God Bless You all.

Mike was truly one of a kind--funniest stand-up comedian, mainstay tenor for years in Sloboda, great friend and, most of all, loving husband, father and deda--truly a gentleman. Our deepest sympathies to his family. He will be sorely missed by all who were privileged to know him.

Dear Kumovi Lalich and extended families:
Kum Mikie was one of a kind! On Sloboda choir trips, we all wondered what he knew about "Suzi" that we didn't! Who can forget our trip to Butte when he had us marching in cadence after the hayride! He rarely got through telling a joke before cracking up before the punchline, his face reddened and his smile wide....his wit was known to all of us. He loved our Sloboda Choir as he was a pillar in the tenor section for some 60 years. May your memories of him bring a smile on your faces and he did for all of us.
Very sincerely,
Kumovi Bato,Ljubi Hayden and Family

Joe, Shelby & Luke,

So sorry to hear about your grandfather's passing. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

July 6, 2009

This is the passing of my last and dearest uncle and my heart is indeed heavy. He was so kind to my mother and always made a special effort to visit her and comfort her in her last days. He was the "baby" of the family and was fondly thought of in that manner by my mother, the late Sophie Krajac. I will remember my uncle telling me stories of Henny Penny, Goosey Loosey and "The Sky Is Falling" so dramatically that I thought it probably was! He loved his family and was so devoted to Aunt Dollie. I will have difficulty not having him around to call with my unending questions about family history and WWII. I will miss him terribly, he was an incredible man.........Mary[Krajac]Domke, Ogden Dunes,Indiana

Dear Kuma Dollie,Joey,Joan,Micheal,Laura and families:
Kum Mikie was one of a kind! He loved singing with our Sloboda Choir and was a pillar in our tenor section for more than 60 years. On Sloboda choir trips, he had us all wondering what "he knew about Suzie" that we didn't!! He couldn't tell a joke without cracking up before he got to the punch line! Who will ever forget our choir trip to Butte and Kum Mikie having us all marching after the hayride....the best of times. He was such a big part of those grand Sloboda memories; to say he will be missed is a gross understatement. May all of your wonderful memories about your Mikie, Dad, Deda and Uncle keep the smile on your faces; this is how we will remember him.
Very sincerely,
Kumovi Bato, Ljubi Hayden and Family

When I think of Kum Mikie, I smile and remember his quick wit at choir and the times he entertained us on choir trips and laughing so hard he cried at many of rehearsals as he teased the basses. His solid tenor voice was a mainstay in his section. His dedication to his church and Serbian people was a gift he gave us all. To Kuma Dolly, Joey, Michael and families, you have my deepest and sincerest sympathies and love at this sad time. He will be so greatly missed.
