Michael Peterson Obituary

Michael Peterson (1976-2023) was an electric shock. He burst onto the Chicago scene in the winter of 2012 and quickly set himself to work establishing himself in the community as a kind, reliable, and hardworking pillar. He began his time in the city working the local food scene making connections that followed him through his life. He set his sights to working the real estate scene and quickly found himself at home with Dreamtown Realty. He found that his innate compassion and desire to serve made him a quick success. He worked tirelessly to ensure that the people he served, as husband, coworker, agent, friend, brother, uncle, and son had everything they could need to be successful. He cared deeply for every person he came across and thrived on lifting up others and cheering them on; celebrating all of their successes and helping them work through their failures. He was the most compassionate and thoughtful person we could have had the honor of experiencing. He was a doting father to two dogs, the loving husband and ever present son to his parents he cared for. He shared his passions through his community involvement as the president of the Edgewater Dog Park, to the community of house hunters. He treated each person he met with kindness and understanding, and he has left an indelible mark on each person whose path he crossed. As suddenly as he took to the Chicago scene, he was gone just as quickly. He will be deeply missed by all of those who knew him. He is survived by his dogs Moki and Loki, his husband Samson, his sister Amy, his nephew Stephen, his mother Sharon and Father Daniel, and every person who's life he touched. The world will be dimmed by his absence but the joy, kindness, and light he brought to the lives of the people around him will endure forever.

Services will beheld for all who knew him at Graceland Cemetery Chapel at 4001 N Clark Street Friday 12/15 at 12pm.

My forever memory of Michael, is his beautiful smile. I can´t think of a time when I have not seen a smile on Michael´s face. His smile would light up the room when he entered. Most of all that smile brought a smile to my son Samsons face, and for that I am forever grateful. When I close my eyes and think of Michael, his smile beams through. I am sure Michael would want to be remembered that way, and through all of this we can think of him and smile, and be grateful we had an opportunity to know him. Rest in love and peace Michael. You will forever be missed and remembered!

I never had the opportunity of meeting Michael in person, only over FaceTime....that will always be one of my biggest regrets. After spending time in Chicago after his passing with my brother Samson, and attending services, the one word that comes to mind now when I think of Michael is LOVE. I left there knowing and feeling how much he loved my brother and his entire family. Michael had some pretty amazing people
in his life, and it´s very apparent people are better for knowing and loving him. He is going to be missed so incredibly much. Rest in Love, Michael

My forever lasting memory of Micheal, will always be, the perpetual smile he always had on his face. I have never seen him without one! He lit up the room when he came into it with that smile. Most of all, the smile he put on my son Samson face. I will miss you Michael, but when I close my eyes, I still see that smile and I will forever hold onto that memory. I´m sure that is how you would want us to remember you.
