Mike has been on my heart for a while, so I looked him up on the net this morning...now I know why. I am sorry we lost touch over the years. The last time we tlaked i was on my way to Kahzakistan through O'Hare.
I first saw Mike at Swing City music in Collinsville Ill. I noticed him because he had on an Amy Grant t-shirt...didn't think much about it untill he was my waiter at Red Lobster that night. Mike was a struggeling youth pastor and I was the manager of a live Rock and Roll nite club inthe same town. We vetured into the Christian concert arena with bands like Bloodgood and the Alter Boys.
I last saw Mike at Agape Fest after I'd moved back to Oklahoma. I thought about him often and always will.
To the friends and family; I pray you have the peace that passes all understanding and know we will all be reunited someday.

I spent many hours with Mike in college traveling around the country in a small van. He always made me laugh along with everyone he was around. He was tenacious in business and learned how to lead people easily. I am sad to have lost touch with him. I will be praying. Very, very sorry.

I was so very saddened to hear about Mike's passing today. I loved his enthusiastic love for life and all the fun we had in our band and hanging out at Greenville College. It was his freshman year, and I'll always remember Mike as the skinny, high energy, bass player and lead vocalist in our band - Deliverance. I'm sorry I lost touch with you throughout the years, and I look forward to seeing you again in heaven, my friend. I'm sure the Lord is saying to you "Well done my good and faithful servant." Our prayers and thoughts go out to his family in this difficult time.

Mike! My michievous 'partner in crime' at Greenville College...my heart is broken at your sudden passing. Until we meet again soon, I will continue to carry my fond memories of our college time together. Yes, it's sad to be parted, but our hope and joy is our coming grand reunion in Christ! "Well done.." mike! I can hear the words he's joyously singing right now, "Wish you were hear, it's such a beautiful place...we're having a great time..wish you were here!" May God pour out his love and strength to Marta and Max!

Mike, I can't believe you are gone. We didn't get to see each other very much the past few years but we were able to talk on the phone occasionally or at one of your concerts. I was going through the contacts on my phone the other day and I still have your name and number. I can't delete it yet. I guess it's that last little piece of hanging on to you. We had some great times at GC. You were my roommate and we had a great time in One Accord. I was always amazed by your musical abilities and your energy to entertain. As you moved on and became more successful you still kept in touch and allowed me to be a part of your life. I've never met your son Max but I hope the legacy that you have left him will keep you close to him the rest of his life. I thank God that our lives have crossed. I know you are at peace, resting in the loving arms of our Savior. I will see you again my friend.

I didn't know you closely, but remember you at my first Agape' Fest, when I helped with the stage construction and security. Later in life at G.C.and at various concerts, you always had something good to say. God's peace to your family. The world needs more Mikes.

Just heard the news from the G.C. Record; feeling shocked & saddened by the news of Mike's passing. My prayers are with his family at this time of trial. Be strong in the Lord, and in His mighty power. May the God of peace grant you rest in His hands, as a babe rests in the arms of his mother.

When we knew Mike well, he was a special teenager who loved God and was full of energy and talent. Over the years, through his mom, Nancy, we kept track of his career and life. When Nancy passed away, we "lost" Mike but never from our hearts. Our whole family grieves with his family and friends yet we are confident that he has been reunited with Nancy in Heaven. Since Rob has chemo on Thursdays, we were unable to come to Chicago for his visitation. Marta and Max, although we have not met you, we know you are special because Mike loved you. We will pray for you, as well as Prent, Nikki and Dawn, in the difficult days ahead. May God give you each one peace.

I am shocked and very sad to hear of Michael's passing. Memories of Greenville College as students and then in the early nineties working for him again in Greenville (printing dorm t-shirts- just one of his many mini-businesses!). I remember his smile, kind words and, of course, his passionate zest for life as he would come bursting into my office. I wish his family the Holy Spirit's peace and confort during this time and in the years to come.

Marta and Max. There is great sadness in my heart as I contemplate Mike recieving his eternal peace. Mike or "Eunice" as we used to call him at Greenville College (after my great aunt) was a great friend as we struggled in premed in those early days. Than it was in bands together with Mike popping the bass and him trying to get to the high notes as a tenor in choir. We had great times laughing together and he will be sorely missed. Our paths have separated but we will see each other again. The Winslows will be praying for you in these difficult days ahead.

I had the privilege of speaking with Mike several times regarding him and his company doing shows all over the country. He was a kind person in every conversation. We never know the reason why Jesus takes someone Home early. But our prayer will be that his family will have tons of people surrounding them through this difficult time, ultimately knowing that they will see him again and finding some comfort in that knowledge.

August 25, 2010

I first met Mike in 1987 when he volunteered to serve on staff at the very first Atlanta Fest. That was 23 years ago but in promoter years it is much longer. Mike was always interesting to talk to and I found him to be warm and engaging. Very few people understand the amount of stress, effort and judgement it takes to be a successful long time promoter like Mike was. I appreciated Mike and am so very sorry that his life was cut short. Please know Marta that you and Max will be in my thoughts and prayers.

To Mike's family--I'm so deeply sorry for your loss. I hadn't seen Mike in years, but have fond memories of working countless tours together in the 90's. He was such a force in the Christian music concert world. I know he is at peace with Jesus, but this world will miss his impact. May you feel God's comfort during this difficult time. You are in our prayers.

I had the pleasure of watching Mike grow up as a concert promoter though our paths haven't crossed in the last couple of years. He always had a smile and kind words for me. My heart is truly saddened at the loss of him. And it goes out to his family. May God comfort and fill you all with His peace.

Mike, you became many things to me since our GC days ... student director of AgapeFest while I was on staff, key member of one of my favorite college bands, One Accord, matchmaker, consultant on AgapeFest and colleague in the Christian festival industry ... but always a friend. I don't know that there will ever be another person in my life that I will want to strangle and hug with equal strength in the same action. :-) Thankful that the past two years brought so many opportunities to see you and meet your family. Jesus has his hands full now :-), but I fully expect to work for your new - literally - Christ-centered concert production company. Get busy. I don't expect you to "rest" in peace, but I know you will now "work" with peace.
