Having a rough week and no matter how crabby I ever was you were always able to bring a smile to my face. I never in a million years thought that losing a grandparent would be this difficult, I knew it would be hard but not this hard. I think it's because you just were such a close part to the whole family. We are all moving along as best as we can, but there are constant reminders of you that either bring a smile or a tear. I could so use some input from you on things going on in life, a sign of some sort would be great! I hope that you are relaxing up there, smoking your cigar and sitting on a sail boat :) Until next time...
Love You

It's Memorial Day, you should have been with everyone in Indiana this weekend! The drive there all I could think was this time last year would be your last visit, you are missed more than any words can describe...you have made such a huge impact on everyones lives that things just are not the same. Will they get better? I am sure...it will just take more time than anyone expects. As the months pass and we approach the one year mark it just seems like it is getting harder again. June has been a very difficult month for the last 6 years, but this year is going to be much more hard to get passed then we think it will be.
I Love You Grandpa!

Another visit to say HI, it still all seems like a bad dream that I will wake up and you will be here. I think this is one of the hardest things that I am dealing with. It is nice to be able to come on here and leave you a message like you are here with us. As the holidays get closer, it just seems like it is going to be more difficult knowing you won't be here to celebrate. You are such a huge space in my heart that is missing. Not a day goes by that there is not a thought of you or that you are talked about (all good stuff don't worry). Until next time...Hugs and Kisses

Just popping by to hello and miss you. As days go by, it just doesn't seem any easier. The only plus side is being so busy you don't have time to think much. I do know that I am dreading the holidays more than anything. I know you are watching over all of us! Love you and still missing you.

There has not been a day that has passed that I have not thought of you or missed you! Aunt Debbie is right you were greatly missed at the race, don't worry we talked about you, but I am sure you already know that. We seen the picture of the HUGE rainbow that Thursday, which I know is your sign. I know that it will get easier at some point, but I also know that it is going to take lots of time. Love you and miss you TONS!!!!!

Dear Dad,
We all missed you greatly at the lake for the 4th of July (did you see the fireworks? didn't the boys do a great job?) and also at the Joliet race, but somehow I know you were there watching over us. I miss you terribly but I'll try to remember all the wonderful times our family has had together. I love you.
Love your daughter Debbie

So very sad. My heartfelt sympathy to all Mike's family. Take solice in knowing that he, with that great smile, is in a better place looking down upon the many who loved him.
As a co-worker in CEN/CMT for many years it was a real pleasure to know Mike, one of the nicest people I ever met. We are all a bit better having known him.

Shirley, Chris, Debbie, Jeff, Cindy and families. I was deeply saddened when I was notified of Mike's passing. I had the pleasure of working with Mike for 20+ years and he was not only a coworker, but a wonderful friend. We shared many stories about life experiences, but my fondest memories will always be of how proud Mike was of his family. God surely has a special place in Heaven for him. May God wrap his arms around you and comfort you during this most difficult time.

Our heartfelt condolences to all of the Slawecki Family. Mike was a dear friend, co-worker, sailing buddy (drinking buddy), travel buddy and just a good guy to be around. I worked with Mike at Argonne and had the utmost respect for his ability to do a tough job. Not just the technical part but dealing with people part. And then there was the sailing in the Bahamas and several trips there on land. In all of this he was easy going, fun and a gentlemen. Even though though we didn't know many of his family members, we knew about them and that they were the most important part of his life. His passing is a great loss to all of us and we will miss him terribly.

I sailed with Mike & boat people through the Bahamas many years ago. He was not only delightful company but a pure gentleman and made my trip the fondest memory. I believe God has a very special seat for him

Mike Slawecki was my office mate when I first started working at Argonne in May 1972. I was new to the midwest, and new to a working environment, being fresh from a graduate school on the west coast.
Mike helped me to make the transition smoothly. Through him, I met several of the others at Argonne. He and these others became my friends and mentors, and I owe a debt of gratitude to them.
My heartfelt condolences to the family Mike has left behind. May he rest in peace.

Mike was a great manager and top-notch electrical engineer at Argonne National Laboratory. He was a wonderful "people" person and it was a pleasure working with him. I considered Mike to be both a colleague and a friend.

To Mike’s family and friends,
It was a delight to see Mike and Shirley when they made their trek east a while ago. I had not seen my cousin since his father’s wedding in Philadelphia more years ago than I care to count. It is not an easy task to keep track of a family that feels obligated to distribute itself to all corners of the country. It is not made any easier when birth names are lost through marriage and when even the original family name, Slawecki, is jumbled up and spit out Slawecki, Slaveski, and Slavecki.
My wife and I were lucky to have stolen a few hours here in Harrisburg as Mike and Shirley made their way to Philadelphia and New Jersey. Our condolences go out to the several generations who will miss their husband, brother, father, grandfather, etc., etc.
