Thornton, beloved husband of Mary, nee Callaghan; loving father of John (Sharon), Michael F. and Mary Ann; proud grandfather of Michael, Paige and Justin; loving brother of the late John (the late Mary). Mary (the late Edward) Newman, Bridget (the late Pat) Comer, Sarah (the late John) Casey, Kathleen (the late John) Curran and Sister Mary Oliver; beloved uncle of many. Funeral Monday, 9:30 a.m. from Gibbons Family Funeral Home, 5917 W. Irving Park Rd., (1/2 block East of Austin) to St. Pascal Church, Mass 10 a.m. Interment All Saints Cemetery. My prayers for the whole Thornton family. Growing up around mr. Thornton was always good for the laughs he brought after a long day of playin hoops in the backyard. Or when you needed help with something dealing with carpentry, he was on it, no questions asked. He will always be remembered as one of the niceest people I've had the honor and privilege of ever meeting. Our prayers are with you guys.

Thornton family,
Our prayers and sympathy to you in your loss. Mr Thornton was ALWAYS such a warm person to be around. His greeting was always sincere and he would always ask how the famiy is doing. Heaven is truly abetter place now that he is there. But our thoughts are with those he leaves behind here.
