Michael J. Vincenzo, 81, of Mt. Prospect; beloved husband of Barbara A., nee Potter, Vincenzo; loving father of Michael A. (Sharon), Nicholas (Kim), Ginny (Don) Schroeder, Lisa, Barbara (Tony DeRose), and Christopher (Lori); cherished grandfather of Barbara Schroeder, Nicole (Eric) Wiegel, Lauren Rosignal, Madeline DeRose, Kristen, Annmarie, Rachel, and Zachary Vincenzo; loved great-grandfather of Van and Rex Wiegel; dear brother of the late Angela Pilcher; and fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation 3 to 9 p.m., Monday, at the Glueckert Funeral Home, Ltd., 1520 N. Arlington Heights Rd., (4 blocks south of Palatine Rd.), Arlington Heights. Prayers 9:15 a.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home to St. James Church, 831 N. Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights for Mass at 10 a.m. Interment Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Dear Barbara & Family:
I am so sad and sorry for your loss. Mike was a great man and enjoyable friend. I got to know him when we both worked for my dad (Jim Fanizza) at Seventeen Specialties in Mount Prospect. Mike always brought a cheerful smile, funny joke and witty perspective everywhere he went. And with great pride, he also got the sale for pens, pencils, and tons of trinkets along the way. I recall the joyful banter they shared daily, which my dad referred to as "agida" (which means heartburn or mental aggravation in Italian). I can only imagine the crazy humor that is going on now that they both together again up in Heaven!

Dear Lisa, I am so sorry to hear the news of your father. There is something very difficult about losing your parent. Take care of your mom and may your family grow closer together as I am sure you father would be so proud. He will be watching over you guys!

Chris and family,
I'm sorry for your loss. Back in our youth when Chris and I hung around, your father's influence had a lasting impact on my life. His kindness, words of wisdom, life lessons learned, coupled with his sense of humor helped shape many of us at that time into the men and parents we are today.

I am sorry to hear of your dad's passing. I just got back from California tonight from visiting Ken and family and he mentioned your dad was in the hospital and was very sad when he got the message about your dad. I would have liked to come to the visitation, but just got home from Callifornia an hour ago. It would have been good to see you and your family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

This relationship goes back at least 45yrs in the old days. We were your neighbors in Broadview as well as I worked with Mike and St.Peter at Brunswick. Dear Vincenzo Family, We haven't seen each other in a few years...But as we grew up we spent many of summer days & holidays together as our folks are best of friends... Your folks as I call them Uncle Mike and Aunt Barbara will always be a memory of mine as fun and laughter. Your Dad was a "hoot" & yes loved to pick on me...BUT he also loved telling people that his dear friend Jim had a daughter that was a "Honey Bear"...so with this I leave you with: Uncle Mike I will miss your deep loud laughter that bought smiles to many....May you share that with those in heaven now.
