It seems to be forever ago that we were at Miles' apartment watching the home movies of his antics. And it is getting fuzzier in my mind-- all of the details, the trinkets on his windowsil, the smell of his jackets hanging on the 'walls'. I miss him so much, everything, and I barely knew him. If I think about him long enough, my eyes well up. But I know he is up in heaven watching all of us. Miles was not the kind of guy to forget someone, and he definately wont let go of us and we cant let go of him.

Miles was one of my first friends when I moved into the city. I met

Miles when we started waiting tables a block away from his basement apt. Miles was such a special person because after we went seperate ways we never lost touch. I am lucky that Miles was a part of my life, he always will be. I'll miss you brother.

I wish to express my dearest feelings of sorrow to Mile's family and to all his friends. He spent alot of time at our house during his teen years with our daughter Jackie. They had a great circle of friends. We enjoyed him alot and I always felt close to Miles. He was a great kid and I was sick to hear of his passing. Our whole family feels terrible about it. My heart goes out to his mother Bobbi as I got to know her well also. He will be greatly missed by all. We love you Miles!!!!

Our sincere condolences go to our friend Miles Gillott (big Miles) and his entire family. Although we never had a chance to meet his son Miles, it is clear to us that he was a special young man and very much loved. He is in our thoughts and prayers.

I feel as though I am a better person for knowing Miles. It was my honor and privilege to have spent time with him. He was too bright of a light to have gone out so soon. My thoughts are with the Gillott family and his many dear friends.

I still can't believe that our Little Miles is gone. I will always remember the time I was at the farm for the first time all by myself and Miles took me for a ride on his dirt bike. I thought I was going to fly off the whole time, but he held on tight and let me hit the gas all by myself. I was so excited that I got to spend time with John and Miles without my brothers. I still remember hiding all of my bumps and scrapes from my mom when I got back home. (a tiny burn, proof I had been on the dirtbike that I was forbidden to ride. I was only 7 or so!)

Miles had a gift that could make everyone feel welcome and comfortable. Everyone has been saying how amazing his hugs were. They were so conforting because they were real hugs, the kind of hug that let you know he was 'really' hugging you back.

I never saw Miles very often, but luckily I saw him at a family party in August. I just remember wanting to pull him aside and have him talk my ear off about all the cool stuff hes done and what he has been up to in the past 5 years. I was a little envious of the time he spent with his friends, I wanted to be a part of his life a little more, and I always wanted to hear what he was doing with his mom at the farm, or going back to school, anything. I didn't pull him aside and force him to tell me about everything he had been doing. But when we were leaving the party, I kept telling him to give me one more hug. I must have gotten one more hug 15 times. I hugged him so much because I wanted the memory of that day and that hug to last until the next time I saw him. I know I will have that beautiful memory until the next time.
