Mina Lelewer

Mina Lelewer, age 94, of Sarasota, FL and Auburndale, MA (previously of Highland Park, IL) died February 11, 2005. She was the widow of the late Joseph D. Lelewer and the sister of the late Jerome Ullman of Peoria, IL. Surviving her are a daughter, Nancy Lelewer Sonnabend of Boston, MA, four grandchildren: Kathy Rowe, Wendy Erickson, Eric Sonnabend, and Patti Wagner and eight great-grand-children. The family will be at Mrs. Lelewer's home on Sun., Feb. 13, 2005 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Lasell Village, 130 D Seminary Avenue, Apt. 123, Auburndale, MA. There will also be a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, Feb. 14th, at 4 p.m. in the ballroom at Lasell Village. Mrs. Lelewer was a graduate of Ferry Hall and National College of Education. She was a National Board member of SHHH (Self Help for Hard of Hearing People, president of its local chapter (North Shore of Chicago) and received the SHHH Rocky Stone Humanitarian award in June 1996. She also taught speech reading for twenty-five years at the North Shore Senior Center and recently at Lasell Village.
