To Nancy's Family,
I will always remember the wonderful mornings my son Henry (and I, too) spent at Anderson center last year. Nancy was such a fun loving and cheerful person -- always with a glitter in her eye -- an example to all of us!
In deepest sympathy,

Dear Joe, Tim, and Ryan,
I was deeply saddened when I learned of Nancy's death just yesterday. I went to grade school with Tim and Ryan and I used to spend my afterschool time at their house. Nancy was the kind of Mom that as I kid I wanted to be around all the time. She was kind and caring and had a real love for everyone. I played the saxophone in 4th grade and when I would walk to school with Tim and Ryan, she would carry my saxophone for me all the way to school. It was probably a good couple of miles. She always did this with the utmost sincere joy. This is just one of many examples that I could write about the joy and love that Nancy had. Please know that my prayers are with you and your family through this difficult time. Tim and Ryan you be strong for your Dad.
Love ya,
Bill

Nancy and Joe have been both friend and collegue for over 20 years; to know them is to love them. My daughter Ryan was in Nancy's first Anderson pre-school class and the positive impressions left by Nancy will last a life time. She was a true angel in more ways than one and will be missed enormously, but NEVER forgotten. Thank you Nancy being in our lives.

Joe, Ryan and Tim,
I never met you Joe, but I sure heard a lot about both you and the boys in the 13 years that I was Nancy's boss at the Park District. I was both shocked and saddened to hear of her passing. She was a joyous person to have around and never failed to bring good cheer to any situation. She was always supportive of new ideas and enjoyed being involved with every aspect of early childhood programming. Her loving care for the children she taught will be remembered for many years to come.

Dear Mr. Kalita, Tim and Ryan,
Our thoughts and prayers are with you as you suffer the loss of Nancy.
Noelle was her preschool student for two years. She was a kind and nurturing teacher who helped children learn that school could be a wonderful place.
Long after Noelle was out of preschool, she took every opportunity to go back to Andersen Center to say hi to Mrs. Kalita. Nancy seemed to remember all of her former students, no matter how much time had elapsed. She touched many lives in our neighborhood, and will be greatly missed.
With sympathy,
Mark, Terese and Noelle Parr

Mrs Kalita brought such joy to our lives for the 4 years she taught our 2 younger children, and later when they moved on and she remained a friend.
When Valerie was in her class and Jeffrey was born, it was just assumed that he would be in that room at Andersen Center 3 years later, and so he was. There couldn't have been a more perfect pre-school teacher. Stories about her will always be part of our family's history.
All of our lives will be a little poorer with out her.

Joe,Tim & Ryan,
What a wonderful caring & loving person Nancy was to so many people. I've thought so often today about the fun times we had when you boys were young. Scott & I were talking last night. He fondly remembers the trips to your grandmothers. Your mom was so proud of your accomplishments. Whenever we saw each other we laughed & shared so many stories. I would run into people who would say their child went to Anderson pre-school & how much they loved Nancy. Her laugh & smile will remain in my memory. She will be missed by so many lives she touched. I'm proud to say she was a dear friend. You are all in my heart.
Love, Barbara Kohut

My memory of Nancy is that she was a loving mother and wife. She was very proud of her boys. My acquaintance with her was a result of our having sons who were good friends. I regret that I only had a few conversations with her. However, with each conversation I understood that she was a kind and gracious women. I know she touched many lives because of her loving spirit. She will be missed.

Nancy was an absolutely amazing woman. Her patience, kindness, zest and love of life has forever imprinted upon everyone who was ever blessed to know her. She has been such a positive becon for so many children, and their parents will always be grateful for that. She has been our son's teacher for the past 2 years at Anderson, and we were so looking foward to having our next two children grow with her gentle nurturing as well. Our hearts and souls are with her family, she was so proud of "her boys", speaking of them lovingly and often. She will be missed, but will always be loved and cherished.

"Miss Kalita" gave our sons such a loving and positive first "school" experience. With all the children she taught over the years, she still remembered the boys' names when we ran into her. Her life was a blessing to so many families.

To The Family Of Nancy Kalita:
Nancy gave both my children, now 14 and 15, the perfect start to the school experience in her role at Anderson Center. She was so loving, patient and kind. I will always rember her fondly. She was so proud of her boys. I still find myself looking for the Kalita name in the baseball stats. Boys, keep going, Be a success. Follow your dreams!

Nancy taught both of our, now teenage children. She was a kind, generous and thoughtful person, who helped shape our children by her example. She continued to care about her students. When I would see her near Andersen Center she would always ask about them. She would share information about Tim and Ryan and their academics and baseball, which was wonderful to hear. Her passing is a great loss to many.
Our thoughts are with you at this time. Nancy was a great person!
