Nerses Chitjian, age 87, WWII Army Air Corps Veteran; beloved husband of the late Elsie, nee Hesotian; loving father of John (Sandra), Susan (David) Erickson, and Janet Chitjian; cherished grandfather of David (Dori), Denise and Elizabeth Chitjian; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Visitation Tuesday at the Armenian All Saints Apostolic Church 1701 N. Greenwood Ave, Glenview, 4 to 9 p.m. with services at 7:30 p.m. Funeral services Wednesday for Mass at 11 a.m. Interment Irving Park Cemetery. A finer man than Nerses did not exist. He possessed all of the finest qualities that we all seek and shared them with everyone. He was truly kind, considerate, thoughtful, compassionate, honorable, loving, and humble. He lived by these traits and always had a warm and friendly smile of encouragement for all. His voice and actions made him a beacon for the entire Armenian community across this Armenian land.
I offer my most profound and heartfelt sympathy to John, Sue and David, Janet and all of Nerses" family.
Good bye to a true gentle man.
