I just heard about Paul's untimely passing, I am shocked and saddened. I had the pleasure of working with Paul at AT&T. His cubicle was next to mine and we joked and kidded every day. He was a sweet, gentle man who shared stories of going back to Georgia on vacation. He once told me that it never rained on a golf course, something I remember every time I pass one .. and I laugh!

I'm sorry that we lost touch when he left AT&T. He promised to contact me after he was settled but time passed and we never spoke again.

I can't believe he's gone...

My sympathy to Paul's Mother, family, and friends. I also work at EHFC and a day doesn't go by without someone still learning of Paul's passing. It is first met with shock and sadness, then kind words. It reminds us - tomorrow is never promised. May peace, strength, and memories sustain you thru the days ahead.

My deepest sympathy to Paul's family. He and I were classmates at Pearl Stephens Elementary School and all through Lanier High School. I always remember his quiet confidence, always very smart but always willing to help those of us who weren't so smart. I had lost touch with Paul and am sorry to hear of his death.

I'm so sorry to hear about Paul's death. He was such a wonderful person and I know he'll be missed. I had the pleasure of working with him for many years and we continued to keep in touch after I left EHFC. I remember how his eyes would light up when he talked about golfing, that is something I'll always remember about him. My thoughts are with you, his family.

Dear Chapman Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Paul. I have worked with Paul at the Fitness center for many years. Paul would always come visit us during lunch and talk to my son when he was little. Max knew Paul's name and when Paul would walk down the hall Max would say his name over and over again. I remember Paul would smile and laugh everytime Max said his name. He will be greatly missed. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Chapman Family,
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Paul. It was my pleasure having him as my supervisor for the past five years. I learned a lot from him about how to treat people. I enjoyed talking baseball with him; he showed passion for his team, the Atlanta Braves. I want to express my deepest condolences to all of you.

I was one of Paul's employees from '03-'06 and again since last Sept. He had pursued rehiring me and as he handed me my name badge said, "I saved it because I knew you'd be back!" I enjoyed the opportunity to work for him and will miss him. My family and I are so sorry for your loss.

Mrs. Chapman and Steve,

I am so sorry to hear about Paul's death. He was my best friend growing up. I have wonderful memories of playing board games on summer mornings in your living room, playing football in your back yard, and playing baseball up on the dirt street.

Buddy and I grew up best freinds. We use to spend hours just fast-pitching a baseball trying to burn-up the other one's glove hand. The last time that we saw each other was at Christmas in the late 80's with "Deannie" and the gang at Aaron Smith's. Before I was married, Bud use to come down and stay with me in Jacksonville and we would head down to Daytona like we did in high school. I wished we had kept in touch later on, but I quess that we get busy with our own lives and time just passes. I still think of him often and all the good times that we had together. I will surely miss him.

My prayers go out to all of those whose lives were touched by Paul. Paul was a gentle, quiet soul. A man of few words, he would always say hello smiling at me with his standard "Kathleen, my queen" or a "Hey teach!" I will forever remember the way he talked incessantly about golf and his beloved Georgia. I enjoyed working for him. May his memory bring comfort to all in the days and months to follow.

Bess

Mother told me of the surprised death of your son and I wanted to express my concern for you and for Steve and Chester and all your love ones. It is very difficult to lose love ones especially a parent, spouse, son or daughter.

I hope that you will continue to have that zest for life and will to enjoy it to the fullest.
