Pitassi, Veteran WWII U.S. Coast Guard, beloved husband of Christine, nee Millonzi; devoted father of Peter (Joan) and Sam C., Melrose Park Chief of Police (Rosa); fond grandfather of Peter, Lauren (Sean) Ramey, Sam J. and Christina; great-grandfather of Julianna. 20 year Village of Melrose Park employee, co-owner of Vehicle Fasteners Company. Funeral Thursday, 9 a.m. from Salerno's Galewood Chapels, Ralph Massey Funeral Direcor, 1857 N. Harlem Ave. to Sacred Heart Church, Melrose Park. Mass, 10 a.m. Entombment Queen of Heaven Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society would be appreciated. Visitation Wednesday, 3 to 9 p.m. 773-889-1700.

Sam, we enjoyed getting to know your dad the last couple of years. Such a fine, kind man with that "twinkle in his eyes" sense of humor. Are you sure he is not Irish!
We will surely miss him on New Years Eve. And so happy we got to chat with him this New Years Eve.
