I was fortunate enough to work with both Phil and Leslie and will always remember the energy, humor and love they brought to everything they did. Phil could light up a room with his jokes and his laugh, and he always made people feel welcome and included. He was a special person and will be remembered for the way he made everyone around him smile.

I enjoyed getting to know Phil when I started as an au pair coordinator. He was warm and friendly, a great story-teller, and very much missed.

Phil is part of the fabric of my Chicago life. Sadly I have a bug and care not to infect anyone. Thank you again Michael and Alison for calling; and Mary Ann I look forward to seeing you soon. Having felt like a part of this family since day one, I continue to hear the words that only Phil could say properly "I'm Italian." Much love to you all.

Phil was the first true friend I met upon moving to Chicago in 1977. He, Paul and Lisa were learning a new way of living and I was entering the big city from Cleveland. So many experiences together during the next 10 years. The best of which is introducing and supporting Leslie and Philly in their relationship. Phil introduced me a Chicago I would not have experienced. I will love him forever - never to be forgotten!!

Where do I begin? Phil, Mary Ann, and Bobby lived across the street from us in Oak Park. I have wonderful memories of the entire family including his mom and dad. Last time I saw Phil was 35 years ago, and thank goodness I exchanged a few emails with him last year. Our families were very close, and I regret not meeting up with Phil last year. Good memories always. I must say that Alison is a doll, and I am so thankful she called me. God Bless all of you, and you will all be in my prayers.

God speed cousin Phillip. I will always remember the wonderful smile, humor and how very nice you always were. I have a terrible cold and cannot join the celebration of your life in person, but I will certainly treasure memories and keep you and your family in my prayers.

I worked with Phil for a number of years and always found him to be a warm, generous, and caring man. He was full of life and this news comes as a shock to everyone who knew him here. On behalf of everyone at InterExchange, please accept our deepest condolences.

We are so sad to have lost our dear friend in Chicago. I always felt a special connection to Phil and his beautiful family. Our connection in Roma led to the weddings, reunions and the numerous visits to the farm. His unique personality brightened our lives and will always be with us.

My sympathy goes out to the entire family. He will be missed. He always would walk thru our front door with that smile on his face, which meant, oh oh he either lost or broke his glasses. He was a joy to us whenever he came in.
