Phillip "Phil" Berger, 78, beloved husband and best friend for 46 years of Gloria, nee Kramer; loving father of Richard (Gabrielle) and Ellen (Heath) Izenson; devoted papa of Maya and Evan Berger and Cooper Izenson; dear brother of William (Nancy) and Gladys Field and brother-in-law of Joyce (Richard) Sass and Howard (Nadine) Kramer; treasured uncle, cousin and friend of many. Chapel service Tuesday 2:30 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Melanoma Cancer Research. For info, 847.255.3520.

Dearest family,
Phil's loss is a loss to the entire Brasch family. We were all raised as one family. His warmth, caring, compasion, subtle and dry sense of humor will keep him in our hearts forever. His legacy is one of wonderful childhood memories with lots of fun,family and caring.
This is a loss that hurts our heart. Sincere deepest sympathy to Gloria, Richard, Ellen, Bill,Gladys, and the three little ones. Phil will be missed.
