I think it is a lovely idea to remember Phyllis in this way. I think of her often. She was very kind, smart, and truly a good person. As long as I have on this earth, I will never forget her.

I think of Phyllis often. She was a kind thoughtful teacher and friend. I know she loved to play bridge. I was always happy to teach any children she had before they came to me for they were always prepared. I will remember her with warm thoughts.

My first message seems to have gotten lost so I will try again. When I think of Phyllis Samuelson I think of a woman who was born to not only teach little children to read but to teach them to love to read. Our Bob had her way back when all of the children in the 3 first grade classrooms at Indian Grove were divided into 9 groups. He began in group 5 but with Phyllis Samuelson's guidance our future Marine was soon soaring. To this day as I see him haul home countless library books, I realize what a debt of gratitude we owe this wonderful teacher.

When I think of Phyllis, I think of someone who was born to teach little children
not only how to read but most importantly to love to read. Our Bob was in first grade way back when the 3 first grade rooms divided all the children into 9 reading groups. Bob started out in group 5 which was exactly where he belonged. Phyllis took that little future Marine and taught to read like a pro. To this day when I see him toting home book after book from the library, I think , "Thank you, Phyllis. We owe you a great big thankyou."

We were so sorry to hear about Phyllis. I worked with her for many years, played cards, and went to the Elks Club for lunches. She was a wonderful teacher and friend. I will miss her.
