I can see him at the grill, cooking up his paella. I can hear his laugh around the dining room table at Christmas breakfast. He would text me every once in a while to see how I was doing or to wish me a Merry Christmas, or Happy Mother´s Day, or happy birthday. Thank you Rich for your service to your country. Thank you for always being so kind. And thank you for being a really fun cousin. Rest easy. We´ll set some pecan rolls aside for you at Christmas.

My Dear Friend Richard, you will be missed as I will think of you often, your humor, smile and your never ending focus on making everyone around you enjoy themselves. Then of course you would fall asleep in the chair. You will be missed dear friend but knowing you are pain free suits it best.

Rich leaves behind fond memories, especially of our summer cookouts and the preparation of Christmas tamales. He was a wise soul.
My sympathy to the Braas family.

Rich was a great guy and a great cousin. We shared common bonds in military service in Germany and an appreciation for the finer things in life, like the theater. Specifically, the Firesign Theater. "I want a pizza to go with no anchovies." "No anchovies? You've got the wrong number. I spell my name, DANGER!"
Just remember, Rich, they never deliver into the hills.
Thank you for your Service. Thank you for all of the people and the lives you've touched over the years. We're all better off for having known you. You'll be missed, Cuz.

Richie was always a fun guy, in a very intellectual way! He even helped me put together my wife (Dalia) a surprise 50th birthday party in Willowbrook Illinois back in 2014. Everything worked to perfection and thank you Richie for helping out and being there!

Richie was a long time member with our Lithuanian-American veteran American Legion group called Don Varnas Post of Chicago. We had many different events, as depicted here at the Darius and Girenas ( hero aviators of Lithuania) monument in Marqutte park during this July time period, as well as many sporting events that we as a group would attend.

We flew Richie to Southern California and showed him all the sites surrounding where we live in orange county. Here are two pictures where we visited Beverly Hills, specifically rodeo drive, and in the background is the hotel that they filmed pretty woman at. We had a great time and it was exactly 4 years ago, late April 2017.

I will definitely miss my big brother. We shared a lot of pretty wonderful times so I´ll have good memories to look back on. Right now he´s probably kicked back, enjoying a whiskey sour with Aunt Corinne, Uncle Bob, our cousin Bob, and mom and dad.

Richard will be interred at the Clarendon Hills Cemetary this summer next to our mom, dad.
