Richard W. Nickels, age 85, WWII Army Veteran, served in Germany and the Philippines, recipient of the Bronze Star. Beloved husband of Maryann, nee Batka; dearest father of Amy (Larry) Malmen and Linda (Norbert) Lewandowski; loving and proud grandpa of Debbie, Sarah, Gwen and Mark; fond brother of Jim (Glenys), Tom (late Mary Ann) and the late Jerome (late Betty) Nickels; fond uncle of many nieces and nephews. Past Commander of Park Ridge VFW Post 3579. Visitation at the Skaja Terrace Funeral Home, 7812 N.
