Richard E. "Richie" Olson, 79, of Edison Park. C.F.D. for 31 years, retired. U S Army veteran. Beloved husband for 47 years to Mary Jo "Bunny" , nee Mash. Beloved father of Eric ( Christine) Olson, CPD. and the late Joseph. Proud grandfather of Victoria, Eric, Jr. and Luke. Dearest son of the late Valborg and Richard Olson.Dear brother of the late Carol Ann Olson and the late Patricia Ann Olson. Richie was a highly honored member of the Amundsen High School Vikings football team, Former member of the Idaho State and Boise State football teams. Cherished member of "The Monks Athletic Club" of Winnemac Park and the CFD Brotherhood of the Barrel. Part time driver of the Niles Free Bus for over 25 years and a friend to many. Visitation Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the M. J. SUERTH FUNERAL HOME, 6754 N. Northwest Hwy, Chicago from 3-9 pm. Funeral Thursday, 9:30 am prayers at funeral home to St. Juliana Church. Mass 10:00am.
