RICHARD PEKAREK Obituary
Richard A. Pekarek, age 65, of Lemont, formerly of North Riverside, passed away April 1, 2012. Beloved husband and best friend of 41 years to Bonnie M. (nee Rusnak) Pekarek; adoring father of Gregory (Nikki) and Bradley (Kary) Pekarek; cherished grandpa of Rachel, Tyler and Braden Pekarek; son of the late Frank and the late Ann (nee Karlovsky) Pekarek; dear brother of the late Frank Pekarek; fond brother-in-law of Dennis (Gail) Matta and the late Diane (James) Cipra; loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Proud owner of Pekarek Accounting & Tax Service in North Riverside for 30 years, a U.S. Army Veteran serving as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War era, a lifelong Chicago White Sox fan and a true dear friend to many. Visitation Thursday, 3 to 9 p.m. at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove, where a Chapel Service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. Cremation Private. Please omit flowers. Dick was a very good friend never said anything bad about anybody even when he was upset. I will always remember Dick a soft spoken man and enjoyed his family and his friends. It is a honor to say that Dick was my friend.

To the family of Dickie as I remembered as a young boy who played baseball and I coached him in Little Leauge. Throughout all the years I have known him to being my accountant and that would be 57 years he was the most likeable guy you'd want to know, his laughter was so warm hearted. He will be missed, my deepest sympathy

Dick was my husband Dan's accountant for over 20 years. My husband Dan died very suddenly at age 53 in 2008. Dick has guided me thru my husbands affairs and has been my accountant since. He was a wonderful man. I will miss him at tax time. My thought and prayers are with his family. Jean Belford

We have known Dick for 30 years now and our conversations consisted mostly of The Flame and Town Cars. We got to know him better as our accountant and so enjoyed the time we spent with him. What a great loss for you and your family. He was such a wonderful guy, thoughtful and caring, we are all so very sad to lose him.
