Rita Campe Obituary

Just two months shy of her 94th birthday, Rita McFadden Campe died at home surrounded by her family. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Bill Campe, and son-in-law, Joe Montcalm. She is survived by her 8 kids: Chris, Beth Montcalm, Bob (Courtney), Bill (Julie), Pat (Lisa), Eileen (Bob Vincenti), Mary (Christoper Lyons) and Jen (Mark Huntzinger), and 18 grandchildren: Erin, Maggie, Samantha, Alex, Mary, Casey, Sean, Megan, Melissa, Emily, Angelica, Ava, Jack, Dave, Mike, Johnny, Lily, and James. She was blessed to also have 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Rita had an insatiable curiosity. She was a lifelong learner who loved poetry, reading and travel. Her Irish heritage was a source of pride and joy for her, as was her deep love of music and dance. She loved to share her interests and her experiences with her family and many friends and always had time to listen and offer her wisdom. Her profound spirituality and love of God provided comfort and meaning to herself and others. We are grateful for her long life and wish her peace on the next phase of her journey.

The celebration of her life will begin with a service on Sunday, May 21 at noon, at 717 Grange Court, Wheaton, Illinois, home of Jennifer Campe, followed by lunch and reminiscing. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Care for Real.

P.s. that's a perfectly lovely picture of your mom. As if we could strike up a conversation on the spot. Just lovely. *cate

Dear Family,
I really liked your mom. Rita was so inquisitive of what was going on in my life and what did I think of this or that. And she truly wanted to know. I'll miss seeing her and her amazing caregivers, along with kind beautiful family members. RiP Rita,a job and life well lived. Fondly,Cate
