Robert Doornbos, Proud U. S. Marine Corps. Veteran of WWII & Past President of DOORNBOS Heating & Air Conditioning in Alsip. Beloved husband of the late Helene (nee Knapp). Loving father of Robert (Beth) Doornbos, Gloria Doornbos & the late Cynthia Weiss. Adoring grandfather and great grandfather of many. Cherished brother of Donald (Ellen) Doornbos & the late: Dorothy, Shirley, Betty, Tommy, Raymond & John. Dear uncle and friend of many, especially his "airplane buddies". Visitation Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. Chapel prayers Saturday, 10 a.m. at the Kerry Funeral Home, 7020 W. 127th Street, Palos Heights proceeding to Saint Mary Cemetery, Evergreen Park for graveside committal prayers. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Cancer Society, 17060 S. Donny & Ellen, Bob & Beth, Gloria, and the Doornbos family, So very sorry for your loss, he was a great man with a great vision for business and pleasure. Our family enjoyed going to the flying fields on father's day to watch him bring fun to everyone. My condolences to all.

Robert Doornbos was a very special man - always friendly, always willing to lend a hand. His loss is a big loss to the Lake Maria Community. Dan and I were very fond of your dad. Dan especially; he regarded Bob as the brother he never had. We mourn with you in the loss of this wonderful father. He will be missed.
I will be making a donation to the American Cancer Society in his name.
