Robert S. Heck M.D. Beloved husband of the late Julie nee Johnson. Loving father of Vicki Heck, Jackie Heck, Dr. Rob (Verena) Heck and Melissa (Doug) Edwards. Cherished grandfather of Griffin, Quinn, Lilly and Vivian. Dear brother of Retired Honorable Donald (Freddie) Heck, and Leanne (Rev. Curtis) Rolfe. Treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews. Resting at Thompson & Kuenster Funeral Home, 5570 W. 95th St. Oak Lawn where services will take place Tuesday at 11:00 am. Interment private. Visitation Monday from 3 pm until 9 pm. A Graduate of South Dakota Medical School and was Phi Betta Kappa before transferring to Northwestern University. Dr. Heck did his internship at Cook County Hospital and began his general practice on the Southwest side of Chicago. He was a member of the American Board of Family Physicians and was later elected Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Illinois Academy. He was a Professor of Family Practice at Rush Medical College. Physician at Advocate Christ Medical Center For 40 Years. Robert was a gifted musician and began his formal study at the age of 4. He sang bass with the Dorian Ensemble and played the Cello with the Southwest Symphony Orchestra. He and his wife Julie were members of the St. Xavier Chamber Orchestra. You made a house call on Christmas Eve when my brother and I both had the measles and we had no Dr. as we were new in the neighborhood. I was 6 and never forgot that and you were our family Dr. forever. A Great man Thank you!

To Dr.Heck's Family,I cant begin to tell you how sorry I am as well as my family.What a wonderful man.He gave me my first school shots to go to school at St Paul, Ardath right there beside him.We were his patients till the day he retired.I miss him to this day. I was one of those lucky kids to get one of those home visits in that jazzzy car when he took out my tonsils.Those were the days.Julie was just as sweet as he.Vicky used to enjoy our visits.He was defiantly one of a kind.May he REST IN PEACE.

He was as I recall the family Doctor for many a family member on my mothers side back in the sixties and seventies and a good one at that. I remember as a kid as to how busy his waiting room was at the medical building that used to be where the CVS is now at 87th and Cicero in Chicago. RIP good Doctor.

My deepest condolences to the Heck Family. Dr. Heck was our family Dr. for many years, from before he was married (when he still made house calls in his T-Bird convertibles)until his retirement. He will be missed by all who knew him. May God Bless him and you, and hold you in the palm of His hand.

Condolences to Dr. Heck's family, we will all miss him. He was a long time client of Shepard Schwartz & Harris and thru the years I got to know Dr. And Julie. They were an awesome couple who I annually looked forward to my visit and catching up on their ever changing and interesting lives. Peace be with them.
