Robert Edward Hickey, 80, of Hinsdale died peacefully Friday, January 2, at Hinsdale Hospital. Mr. Hickey was born and raised in Joliet and lived in Cincinnati, Ohio and New Cannan, Connecticut during his business career with Olin Corporation before moving to Hinsdale. Mr. Hickey was preceded in death by his brothers, William and James. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, nee Stevens; his sons, Scott (Jean) of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Brian (Karin) of Hinsdale; and his daughter, Sara (Robert) of Roanoke, Virginia; his grandchildren, Michael Beedie, Katherine Beedie, Max Hickey, Blair Hickey, Lissa Hickey and Jack Hickey; and his brother, John of Carol Stream. Mr. Hickey graduated from Northwestern University in 1945 and was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in WWII under George Patton. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 4, at St. Isaac Jogues Church, Hinsdale at 1 p.m. Interment is private. Memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
