Robert D. Poden, age 83. Born in Chicago, Illinois on February 18, 1933 to Guy and Marian (Driscoll) Poden. Married Rosanne "Roro" Reilly on April 4, 1959 at St. Aloysius Church in Jersey City, NJ; loving father of 5 adoring daughters, Arlene (Cary) Tengel of Chicago, IL, Meave (Patrick) Foley of Evanston, IL, Patricia (John) Maunsell of Chicago, IL, Katherine (Stephen) Colbourn of Lincolnshire, IL and Elizabeth (Mark) Murdoch of Mercer Island, WA; much loved "Popo" of 15 grandchildren, Louis, Joseph & Madeline Tengel, Robert, Kevin, Jack & Clare Foley, Kathryn, Shea & Anne Maunsell, Patrick & Ryan Colbourn and Maeve, Paul & Brian Murdoch. Dear brother of the late Arlene (Clarence) Stensby and much loved by many nieces and nephews. Visitation Monday February 6 , 2017, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Donnellan Family Funeral Home, 10045 Skokie Blvd, Skokie, IL 60077. Funeral Mass 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 1775 Grove St., Glenview, IL 60025. Interment Sacred Heart Cemetery, Northbrook. Dear Mrs. Poden, I was saddened when Dad told me Mr. Poden had passed. Dad was quite saddened as well. I remember the old days when you came over to visit with my parents. Mr. Poden was always so nice. I wish you and your daughter's comfort.

Mr. Poden is a great man. I enjoyed my brief time getting to know him down here in North Palm and hearing his stories about the old days in Chicago.

I would like to say a little bit about Bob. He was both a graduate of Loyola Academy and the University of Notre Dame. He went on to become a Captain and pilot in the U.S. Air Force.
As one of the founders of Black Dot Graphics, he grew the company to be a major player in computer typesetting.
I met Bob in 1965 when I applied for a job at his Fathers Company. Over the subsequent years he was my Boss, Mentor, Partner and Friend.
He will be greatly missed. Bob was a very unique person who brought out the best in people. May God bless.

My heartfelt condolences to the Poden family. Bob is one of the finest people I have ever had the privilege to know. He influenced me greatly in the brief time I was able to spend with him. I still can't watch an ND football game without a fond memory popping in my head about him. He will not be forgotten ever!
