Bob and his (now late) brother Roy were childhood chums and lifelong friends of my late father, Phil Friedman. I knew Bob and Roy from their retired days, when they would occasionally stop in to chew the fat with my old man at his 5 & 10 store in Logan Square back when you saw more scads of graffiti than cinnamon scones.

He was always wild uncle Bobby to me. I remember once Bobby was at our house in Glencoe and we had recently just closed our outdoor pool for the summer. It was drained a little but there was plenty of water still in it except the water was green. Bobby changed into his suit in our garage and it was a cold day and then proceeded to jump off the diving board into the green pool. I was pretty young but I always thought he was so much fun. You will be missed!

"Bobby" was a life long friend of mine. During our childhood he lived around the corner from me in Albany Park. We went to Hibbard grammar school together as well as Roosevelt High School, and I counted him in as one of my best friends. We spent many a day and evening together along with others in the neighborhood. We parted close contact when we went to college, but we never lost track of one another. As late as last year he would occasionally come to my home and we would go for a walk or have breakfast together. He was always in the mood for a spirited conversation and we would debate world event or personal attitudes or financial matters or whatever came to mind. He was a good friend that I knew I could count on if ever needed. I'm sure he felt the same way about me. He will be truly missed and I will remember our experiences together forever. My special condolences to Roy and to the rest of his family. I'm sorry I will not be able to attend his services at Temple Sholom where I was a member for many years but I will be thinking about him and the over 75 years I have know him with sorrow.

My deepest condolences to all his Family.
Bob was a great person, a good friend always and a fond traveler.
In travels and cruises he was always the spirit of the party, his wide knowledge, wisdom and wit entertained us and we loved it.
It will be with much nostalgia to remember those times now.

Robert, known to me as "Uncle Bobby" will be greatly missed, I often thought of him as a surrogate father. Throughtout the past 45 years he was instumental in mentoring me in different facets of my life. He was very fond of my mother, the belated Carlota Grayson. They and us, took many trips together including several cruises. May his memory be a blessing for me, my children and all those who were touched by his presence.
