Robert Zellner Obituary

Zellner, Robert John Born January 16, 1922 to Eva (Klaus) and Charles Zellner was a long-time Lake Forest resident and St. Mary's parishioner. Loving husband of Mary (Kitslaar) for 67 years. Devoted father of Margaret Hartman (Robert), Ann Marie (deceased), John (Linda), Mary Ann Anichini (Eugene), Paul (Carol), and Ann Zubrzycki (CR). "Papa" to 22 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Robert is also survived by his sisters Margaret Paulick, Katherine Paulick and Ruth Zelzer. After graduating from St. Norbert College, Robert joined the Navy with duty on an aircraft carrier. After leaving the service, he spent 17 years in chemical synthesis research, was admitted to practice before the U.S. Patent Office, and received his law degree from Chicago Kent College of Law. Robert was admitted to the Bar in Illinois and Ohio, was a patent Law Practitioner and administrator, a Senior Vice President and Counsel of a chemical manufacturing company, and a Minister of Care to the home-bound and nursing homes after he retired. Visitation 10:00-11:00 a.m., Friday, April 29, 2011 at Wenban Funeral Home, 320 E. Vine Avenue, Lake Forest, IL 60045 followed by an 11:30 funeral mass at the Church of St. Mary, 175 E. Illinois Rd, Lake Forest, IL 60045. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Addison Zellner Foundation, 2833 Grissom Court, Woodridge, IL 60517.
