Dear Angela, I am saddened to see that you lost Roger at such an early age. I have just learned that Roger was so very revered by many persons who were touched by his many accomplishments and personal associations. I wish you and your family all the best. Harold Blesy, St Joseph, MI

Angie and family,
Sue and I were saddened to learn today (3/28) of Roger's passing. I actually learned the news while at the Barber shop in EGV. He will be missed by all who knew him. We actually tried to find your house when we last visited Batavia only two months ago. Now I wish that we had persued the effort more vigorously.
He was a bright and gifted guy and totally in love with you and his kids. I"m sorry that we failed to keep in contact the last ten or fifteen years. But, time flies when you're having fun. Call if you feel the urge to reiminise (sp?).

I was deeply saddened to learn that Roger Johnson had passed away. Though I worked with Roger at Alexian Brothers Medical Center over 20 years ago, he's not a person one easily forgets. He was a big guy with a light touch, and it was always a pleasure to be around him.
My heartfelt sympathies go out to you and to your family.

My mother worked with Roger, Dean, and Lois back in the early 1980s. About once a month, they would come over to our house for dinner, while I, a young teen, would choose to stay in our TV room and eat. My fondest memory of that time, was when Roger asked me to watch the televised election returns of Richard Daley, and Harold Washington. Roger would frequently check in with me to see who was leading to win the mayoral election, and I would dutifully report on the numbers. By the end of the evening, it was very special to share the historic news of Harold Washington's win with Roger first. It was a moment to remember! Thank you

Roger, was my father's first boss back in 1973. My father was Robert Skoda and when he passed in Oct. 06' Roger had only the nicest things to say about him. On the flip side my father always spoke very highly of Roger. Roger was a great friend and had a profound inpact on my fathers life. He will be missed dearly.

To Roger's Family:

You were blessed to have him as your husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Like many others in the HR field, he was a colleague, but also a leader and guide. And he sure could make us laugh!

So saddened to hear of his passing. Roger will be smiling and chuckling at us from his new holy home.

Angie, you may not remember me but I worked with Roger during the mid 80's. I bumped into Roger several times over the years but never spent the time we did during the years we were colleagues. Roger was always a great sorce for practical guidance. We also never lacked for laughter whenever Roger was around. I remember fondly my days of working with Roger and think of them often. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

My deepest sympathies to Roger’s family and many friends. Roger was one of those people who always seem to have the answer to life’s many dilemmas. I had the good fortune working for Roger early in my career, an experience I’ll always cherish. Roger thanks for all the support, I’ll always remember you in my prayers.

Rest in peace and God bless.

Roger,

Been a while since I've seen you, and even longer since we've had one of our not so famous, but frequent, philosophical discussions on the porch.

Had some good times there that cause me to smile each time I think about them. You'll be missed but never forgotten.

I am deeply saddening to learn about Roger's death. No doubt, during his long tenure with ABMC, he served with dignity. His love of the organization, the Alexian Brothers and the entire staff is one of the key reasons that ABMC is the best place I have ever worked. The legacy he has left, in terms of hiring dedicated, caring folks, will last for many years. I am so blessed for getting to know him, especially as a supervisor, in my last years at ABMC. Many hugs to his family and to the beloved crew at ABMC.

Dear Angie, Eileen and I were greatly saddened to learn of Roger's passing. During my years at Alexian Brothers he was a great friend and source of support. I have often thought of Roger since those days and value the time I had with him. He also was one of the few Salukis I had the pleasure to work with. Our thoughts are with you and your family.

As a teacher, one hopes to have had some influence on a pupil. Being Roger's fifth grade teacher, how could I have known the paths this delightful young boy would take? I am so proud of Roger; his family, his accomplishments and especially his caring nature. Roger exemplied how a young man can grow and become a pillar of his commmunity. We should have more people like him giving their talent to society.

I often referred to Roger as "Dad", he was one of my mother's best friends from childhood, and I have known him my entire life. I will always remember his hearty laugh and his gusto for life. Roger, like my mom, led a rich and full life, and didn't let grass grow under his feet. Although the time was too short, he left a mark on the world through his career and a mark on the hearts of all who were lucky to know him. Roger was one of those unselfish people in the world, who you knew you could count on. He was a terrific dedicated friend, husband and father-real or not. On behalf of my mom, Kay Rocen and I, we are truly saddened by this loss. It doesn't make the hurt go away, but he is not alone and is in good company-I bet he and my mom already hit the casino in the sky together!
With Love, Donnanne Marvin

Ang, Tracy, Ryan, Megan, Betsy and Grandma: I am so sorry for the loss. Your dad was like a father to us growing up as well, considering we spent most of our younger years at each others house. I will miss him. He was a great man. If you guys need anything let me know.

I was honored to have shared a portion of my life with Roger. I am thankful that the guidance and leadership he provided me, helped shape who I am today. Roger saw so many things in me that I didn’t know existed. What loved most about him was, rather than just being a boss…you opted to be, a mentor, a colleague, a father figure, but first and foremost a friend.
