Ronald Smoy

Ronald A. Smoy, Sr., 86, of Schaumburg, former longtime resident of Mount Prospect, passed away Saturday, August 20, peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family. Ron was the former owner of A.J. Smoy Co. Inc. of Chicago; a family-run business that spanned over 3 generations and 69 yrs. Ron had four passions in his life: his beloved wife Charlene B. Smoy (nee Osberg), who was the love of his life for 66 years; his loving children Deborah (Mark) Feldman and Ronald Jr. (Gail); cherished grandchildren; Donald and David (Nichole) Burkhardt, Jason and Erik Smoy; dear great grandchildren; Sarah, Max and Jameson. Love 3; the business he worked at until he was 83, and love 4; the Cubs. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Irene; sister Shirley (the late Reginald) Durava; sister in law Jeanne, brother in law Walter Pozdol, and sister in law Carol (Robert) Kratky. Memorial visitation Wednesday, August 24, from 9 a.m. until the service time at 12 p.m. at Grove Memorial Chapel, 1199 S. Arlington Heights Road, Elk Grove Village.
