Ronald R. Zalud

Ronald R. Zalud, 79, at peace in Christ May 6, 2022, formerly of Chicago and LaGrange, IL. Beloved son of the late Frank E. Zalud and the late Marie H. Zalud (nee Mach). Loving brother of Eileen Zalud. Proud uncle and godfather of Jill (Stephen) Kenney. Cherished great-uncle of Liam Kenney and Kyla Kenney. Godfather of Terrence Zalud and the late Nancy Husch. Fond cousin and friend of many. Dearest nephew of Richard and Agnes (nee Zalud) Raddatz. Ronald was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Ron leaves behind Diana Pasch, his devoted significant other of 20 years; Emily Pasch, her granddaughter, who affectionately named him "Papa Ron;" and their extended family. Ron was a very loyal alumna of St. Rita of Cascia High School and longtime member of the Pipe Fitters Local Union #597. He devoted his career to the heating and air conditioning field, and most recently with AEC (Application Engineering Co., Elk Grove, IL) until his retirement. Ron enjoyed boating on Fox Lake, playing a round of golf with his buddies, and bowling in a league with Diana. Ron loved being a big part of Emily's life while she enjoyed tennis, volleyball, basketball, Daisy/Girl Scouts, gymnastics, horseback riding, etc. Visitation 3 to 7pm on Thurs., May 19th at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 1025 W. 55th St., Countryside. Family and friends are invited to meet at St. Cletus Church, 600 W. 55th St., LaGrange for 10am Mass on Fri., May 20th. Interment private.
