Roy Nagle Obituary

Dr. Roy G. Nagle, age 89 of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away in the early morning hours of May 3rd 2021. Beloved husband, amazing father and cherished friend to many,

Roy was born on March 18, 1932 in Atlantic City, New Jersey. He attended the University of Pennsylvania undergraduate school, and the University of Pennsylvania Medical School on a full scholarship. He graduated Phi Beta Kappa. He served a brief stint as a Captain in the United States Army stationed in Paris. He married Patricia Hearst Nagle in Chicago on January 20, 1962. Roy went on to practice medicine at Northwestern Memorial Hospital in Chicago until he moved to Hawaii in 1984. In Kona, Roy established a private internal medicine practice and later served as the Medical Director of the Kona Hospital. After his wife's untimely death in 1999, he remarried Jean Nagle on March 3, 2003.

Roy enjoyed golf, fishing, fine food and great wine. He was a member of the prestigious Commanderie de Bordeaux. He loved his wine! He also loved his Havanese dogs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Yvette and Richard Nagle, and his first wife Pat. He is survived by his wife Jean Nagle, his daughter Lauren Brooke Tao, his son Scott H. Nagle, and his three stepchildren Charlene Timmons. Travis Bass and Lindsay Sieben. Roy is survived by his three grandchildren, Anuhea, Cole and Kawika and his four step grandchildren, Abigail, Colby, Jack and George.

He was loved by so many, and remembered as a "gentleman, a generous father, a kind person and one of the best. They don't come any better."

In lieu of a service or gifts, Roy asked that donations be made in his memory to the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine.
