RUBY BRENNER Obituary
Ruby Brenner, 76, was defeated by her illness in spite of her valiant efforts. There is no replacement for the glow of her smile and the warmth of her love. She is survived by her husband Howard; her children Joseph (Sue Golden), David (Arden) and Judith (Jack) Craven; her grandchildren Leslie, Melissa, Hallie, Rachel, Audrey and Shana and sister-in-law Beverly Schwartz. Ruby enjoyed a long and successful career as a reading teacher in several Chicago and Evanston public schools and was an avid gardner, a voracious reader and a devoted friend to many. Chapel service Tuesday, 12:15 p.m. at Shalom Memorial Funeral Home, 1700 W. Rand Rd., Arlington Heights. Interment Shalom Memorial Park. Donations in her memory may be made to Temple Jeremiah, 937 Happ Rd., Northfield, IL 60093. Info: (847) 255-3520.

Dear Howard,
I was both shocked and saddened when I heard about Ruby's death. She was looking so well at our last concert. I didn't know Ruby that well, but when I did see her she always greeted me with a winning smile. My very deepest sympathies to you and your entire family.
