We did not know Sam or his family, but did wonder about him and his family for a long time. You see, my brothers and I are the grandchildren of "the other" Sam Mankoff, formerly of Newark, NJ, who arrived in the US in 1913. Please accept our heartfelt condolences on your Sam's passing; every Mankoff is precious to us, and the world is a lesser place for the loss of any.
