SHARON LUFRANO Obituary

Sharon LuFrano, nee Johnson, 42, of Sauganash Park Chicago, passed on to the Lord February 13, 2010. Beloved wife of Angelo LuFrano, Sharon was born on March 20, 1967 to Martin and the late Eileen (nee Burns) Johnson in Connecticut. Sharon attended Lake Zurich High School and graduated to attend Lewis University in Chicago. Sharon started her professional life following her father's love for aviation by becoming a flight attendant for American Airlines. Sharon then transitioned her professional life back to earth to property management for various companies in Chicago, most recently for Hines Interests where she served as General Manager for Three First National Plaza at 70 W. Madison Street. Prior to Hines, Sharon was the General Manager at 680 N. Lakeshore Drive for ten years and it was the special place where she met her future husband Angelo. At Hines, Sharon celebrated many successes. She was particularly proud of being awarded a Hines Best Practice for creating an innovative enhancement to assist in leasing the building as well as leadership in the recently completed multi-million dollar nine story lobby renovation. Without her efforts, the project would not have turned out to be the universally acclaimed success that it has become.

Sharon shared a great love of both domestic and international travel over her lifetime, striving to visit all 50 US States and many countries around the world. She shared her travel passion with family and close friends in her many adventures. Sharon also enjoyed reading, had a great appreciation of architecture, fashion and the beauty that life had to offer.

Sharon married the love of her life Angelo LuFrano of Chicago Illinois on Saturday, September 13, 2008, choosing September 13th as it was the date of her parent's marriage. Sharon and Angelo's honeymoon continued their love of travel with their visit to Washington, DC, The Green Briar Hotel in West Virginia and the Biltmore House and Gardens in Asheville, North Carolina. The happy couple celebrated their one year wedding anniversary last September in Door County, Wisconsin.

Sharon is survived by her husband Angelo and their chocolate Labrador Gracie. She is the loving sister of Chris (Monica) and Peter (Marny) Johnson, and Kathleen (Qais) Sharif; cherished daughter-in-law of Pearl LuFrano; fond sister-in-law of Bridget (Edward) LuFrano-Campbell, Michael LuFrano III, Pearl (Ricardo) LuFrano-Cruz, and Mario (Maria) LuFrano; beloved aunt of Sydney and Ryan Johnson, Katy, Erin and Maureen Johnson, Araabi and Zane Sharif, Christopher, Brittany and Stephanie Campbell, Valerie LuFrano, Samuel Colon, Candace Cruz, and Ricardo Cruz Jr., Gabriella, Ashley and Kristen LuFrano, and six great nieces and nephews; beloved friend of many. Visitation Wednesday, February 17, from 3-8 p.m. at the Davenport Family Funeral Home, 149 W. Main St. (Lake Cook Rd.), Barrington. Lying in state Thursday, February 18 from 9 a.m. until the time of Mass at 10 a.m., at St. Anne Church, corner of Franklin and Ela Streets, Barrington. Interment, White Memorial Cemetery, Barrington. Although there are countless fun and wonderful memories of Shar - I will always treasure our riding together to our "CB Girls" get togethers - we always stopped at the Edgebrook Starbuck's - even if I made us a little late - and talked, talked talked, laughed, laughed, laughed! I remember the one time she said she was going to drive separate because she was going to go down to the office after our luncheon (yes on a weekend) and I told her "it's tradition we drive together - is 30 minutes really going to make a differences" - Shar said "You're right - pick me up"! I did and we had a blast and I got 30 extra minutes to treasure with Shar! I love you SharShar! Cindy

I am so profoundly sorry for your loss. I had the good fortune to work with Sharon on a construction project within her building. From this endeavor I was even more fortunate to become friends with Sharon often sharing stories and laughter over great food.

Sharon was always a breath of fresh air. She exuded happiness when talking about her husband Angelo and the same when talking about her career. She was such a caring and compassionate person...always placing the feelings of others before her own. She was one of the most self-driven, hard workers I have ever known, a credit to her positive thinking attitude. I will miss Sharon and our fun conversations and am grateful to have known her.

Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely, in an attractive and well preserved body. But rather, to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand, strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out
and screaming "Woo Hoo - What a Ride!!"
My dear friend, your ride was cut way too short.

On Ash Wenesday I will offer the Mass in Warren VT for Sharon who always brightened my day when she came to Vermont to visit her dad.Deep sympathy to all who are hurting now. Father Bill Martin

I went to school with Sharon for many years. She was a close friend of mine in high school and we shared many good times together. Most of all I remember Sharon's kindness, her smile, and her laughter. She was truly a beautiful person and she will be missed. We reconnected fairly recently, but much too late. Our deepest sympathy to the Johnson and LuFrano families.

We were neighbors of Sharon's family and were priviliged enough to be able to watch Sharon grow up into a wonderful, caring woman. She has been a supportive and best friend to our daughter, Audra, and we will all miss her cheerful smile and adorable laugh.
There are no words that can express how sad we are and how much of a void she has left in our hearts.
