I recently came across a box of Sue's figurines in a Chicago antique store and thought they were so cute, I bought the lot- some dating back to the 1980s! The reminded me of my grandma. I was looking online for the artist, and more figurines, when I came across this obituary. What a talented woman and amazing artist, I will cherish these pieces!

I met Sue in my first year attending UIC, when we were pledging Sigma Phi Alpha together. She introduced me to quilting and crafting, which I am greatly enjoying in my retirement. I also still have many of the pretty crafts she gave me so many years ago for Christmas which are displayed each year. She made some children's blocks for me when I was pregnant with my first baby, which my grandchildren now play with. Truly a kind and giving person that will be missed in the world. May God bless you and provide peace Fred.

God bless you Fred, may our Lord blanket you with His comfort.
Sue was so kind to me when my sister Paty passed away. I never forgot her heart, She comforted me. She sent me a copy of the hymn , “What a friend We Have in Jesus”. She truly was an example of God’s love in action.

One of my first Forest Glen pals. Sue is with me forever in memories of simple days spent gardening or exploring Oak Park and in so many delightful treasures in my home. A special person in every way. May her memory be a blessing.

Sue was one of my very favorite people to be with. My mother-in-law Carole loved Sue as her neighbor and collected many wood figures that she loved. I will treasure Sue in the Easter figures that I inherited. God bless and strengthen you in your loss.

Sue was one of my first friends at UIC, a few years back in 1976. She was soft-spoken, wise, and extremely kind. We spent a lot of time listening to Elton John our freshman year and pledged Sigma Phi Alpha together to become sorority sisters. Over the following years I acquired many of her beautiful, hand-made folk art pieces which I lovingly displayed in my home every Christmas season for over 40 years. Although we had lost touch, I will always remember her as a creative and talented ‘old soul’ who loved her family, friends, and the environment. I extend my deepest condolences and sympathy to her mom, her dear husband, Fred, her extended family, and the many others who have known and loved her.

My heart was so saddened to hear this news about Sue. I met Sue at work at Cedar Crest and we just connected with such a warm smile. She always made a point of stopping by letting me know she was here visiting Mom. We would chat and laugh and she would wave each time as she would walk by. Our hearts were glad to see each other when she was visiting. She would drop off little nuggets of love on my desk if I wasn't there, letting me know she stopped by. She was a special lady/friend to me and I'm going to miss her terribly. Rest In Heaven my dear friend. I will see you again. My deepest sympathy Fred and to the family. Love from the front desk.
