My mother, Emilia Ostrega, told me the sad news of my "Wujek" Ted that she received yesterday. He was a good man, a good uncle. My mother praised him for always watching out for us, the Ostrega Family, since coming to Chicago in 1963 at the invitation of my mother's sister, Genowefa and her husband Walter...grand parents, and great-parents to many of siblings. You are all in our prayers. Rest in Peace Tadiusz.

I do have many fond memories of my Uncle Teddy from panting Busi's house, to washing Busi's windows, to cutting Bus's grass, and baking cakes at the Cake and Cookie Cottage. My Uncle showed me the secret to making marble cake , but the thing I remember most is the time he took to show me how play chess. Every time I play, I remember how he explained each piece and their related moves. We go about our lives wondering if we made a difference or if being here had some meaning. Sure, Uncle Teddy had faults, as every man does, but the value he brought to us was invaluable and will never be forgotten. Glen Mirocha (Knoxville TN)

I have very fond memories of my uncle Teddy both at the bakery and at their home in Elmwood Park.
The service was beautiful and very comforting.
The speakers touched on the very best qualities of my uncle.
His sense of humor, His dedication, And his loyalty is how we will remember him
I remember the Cordova but I did not know about the spare tire in the backseat
May God bless Teddy and all of his family

We have fond memories of Uncle Teddy working at the family bakery baking the most delicious cakes and breads .One memory I have at Easter time they would bake Easter lambs . In the past five years, I acquired a lamb mold and reached out to Uncle Teddy for the recipe. He told me to go to buy a Betty Crocker pound cake mix and to bake it for an hour. We laughed as i said so you know Betty! Uncle always had a loving sense of humor.
I have fond memories of the last time Uncle Teddy, Auntie Joannie and my mom ,his sister ,Stella got together to celebrate Christmas in 2015 . They had a traditional Polish lunch, and they broke Opatek which is a Polish tradition of wishing one good health. happiness and prosperity into the next year. Their smiles showed their enjoyment of the day,
May the celebration of Uncle´s life and the wonderful husband, father and grandfather he was bring comfort to all of the family.
And to Uncle Teddy, you were blessed to be able to celebrate your earthly birthday on February 1, and also your heavenly birthday. Sto Lot! Sto lot!
A loving spiritual hug from his sister, Stella.
Love, Kevin and Linda

Thoughts and prayers of strength to all.
No matter the time nor the distance apart, the loss of Uncle Teddy is felt. I will always remember the bakery days with Uncle Teddy. After all these years, Uncle Teddy´s pointer finger nail made an impression on me. Years ago, he carefully picked out all of the raisins that I had placed as eyes on the lambs, because I had made the lambs look cross-eyed. It´s funny how those little lessons of paying attention to detail matter to this day. Uncle Teddy always wished me health and happiness at the breaking of the Apwowtek, and then he´d use that same pointer finger nail to break off a piece
of the Apwowtek. Love you Uncle Teddy! Thanks for the traditions and lessons through the years. I can still hear your laugh when I think back to the good old days.

I am so sorry for your loss, in hard times such as these I´d like to share a bible scripture found in Isaiah 63:9, God sees your distress and he feels it too. With love and compassion he will lift you up and carry you. You are not alone God is there for you.
