Was Just thinking of Dr Regan recently. Saw him on the BRHS sidelines when I was a student team photographer late 1970s. He took care of a minor knee injury of mine in about 1983 and was great. Belated condolences for a gentleman physician who epitomized the best of what the medical profession offers to our patients.

Recently heard the sad news of Dr. Regan's passing. My condolences to his wife and family. May beautiful memories bring you comfort forever. I too was a patient due to the insistence of a dear friend who told me you have to let Dr. Regan replace your knees as he is the best,. So blessed I took that advice and recovered beautifully and can enjoy pain free mobility with both knees today. RIP Dr. Regan, You will always be remembered in my prayers.

We are so very sorry to hear of Dr. Regans passing. He was a wonderful doctor to our family for many years but more importantly he was a friend to us. When our daughter was getting married on June 17, 2017, Dr.Regan being the kind soul that he was, let me come in to the office on June 12,2017 to get a cortisone shot with my husband even though he needed to leave to see his new grand baby. He knew it was important for us to be able to dance with our daughter on her wedding day, especially my husband. We will miss you Dr. Regan, you were one of the good ones !!

I called the clinic today to make an appointment after an extended vacation abroad and was surprised why it said it was a non working number. I looked up his name and his obituary came up. I am so sad- Dr Regan made my pains go away- he did surgery on my right shoulder and would give me shots on my left shoulder - and his bedside manner at PALOS was outstanding- kind, soft spoken , compassionate and made one laugh inspite of the pain- I will never forget you , Dr Regan , you are an awesome doctor- my sincerest condolences to the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. Dr. Regan was a god sent to me. If it wasn't for him, I wouldn't be walking. My prayers go out to his wonderful family. Each visit I would hear a little tidbit about his daughters and grandchildren. I am sure God saved a wonderful spot in heaven for a man like him.

I am a classmate of Tom's from Brother Rice. While I went to the Uof I for medical school we saw each other frequently since at that time Loyola med school was located in the West side medical center along with the U of I. Subsequently we saw each other less frequently due to our busy practice lives on the opposite sides of town. As a Rheumatologist at Lutheran General Hospital for 40 years I worked closely with many Orthopedic surgeons. When a patient came to me from the southside and needed Orthopedic care I would often send them to Tom.
There are several personal and professional anecdotes that I could share about Tom. But instead it's his overwhelming generosity that deserves comment. Tom was generous of both his time and attention in a way that let friend, family member, patient, etc- mostly anyone who was lucky enough to know him, feel truly appreciated and valued, not judged. He was the first to step up and offer to help and the last to leave a patient in pain or a friend in need. His generosity is a remarkable characteristic that defined him as an Orthopedist and a person. It was just who he was, period. The world is a poorer place because of Tom's passing.

Dr. Regan was a great surgeon and a kind and caring man. My husband and I have many great memories of him several stick out, showing his sense of humor and great thoughtfulness. I was at my post op visit for my Rt. knee replacement and he was about to check the incision. He noticed I had a Wonder Woman band aid at the top and peeled it off for the inspection, afterwards, he asked why I had that band aid on my incision. I explained that my granddaughter put it there to give me Super Powers for a speedy recovery. Without cracking a smile he carefully placed the band aid back on the incision saying "I can't believe I didn't think of that first." Also at Christmas time we would give him some homemade giardiniera and dried sausage for which he always responded with a personal thank you for the Special Treat! Thanks for the memories Dr. Regan, you will be greatly missed. Until we meet again!

I am so sorry for your loss. I am sure you are hearing many stories
of what a remarkable doctor he was. I myself had, two torn meniscus & two fronzen shoulder. Each time I came in he would said " did the dogs do this to you". I know those Labradors Retrivers are strong..& we would just laugh. He never forgot. My sincere condolences to his wife & family. May he rest in peace until we meet again.

I had the pleasure of working with Dr. Regan for 17 years as OR manager at Palos Hospital. He was a man of integrity ,compassion, and commitment to his profession as healer.' I was always impressed by his philosophy that his patients' needs so often came before his own schedule's conflicts. I ,as many others, were fortunate indeed to be his patient. He will be missed . My sincere condolences to his wife and family.. May he rest in peace; and until we meet again , may God hold you in the palm of His

I was a patient of Dr.Regan. He did a left knee replacement on me 9 years ago. I was going to have him do my right knee before I found out about him retiring. He was such an awesome doctor! I loved him! He was a very serious doctor which made his bedside manner excellent for me because I am a very serious person myself. There will never be another doctor like him! I will keep his family in my prayers & thoughts! I love it that he was Catholic as I am also.

Tom and I were classmates and friends at Brother Rice. I remember his parents, their house in Beverly, and a couple double dates he and I had with the ladies from Mother McAuley. Tom had an interest in medicine even back in high school. I was his designated compadre for a number of weekend visits (arranged by one of his relatives) to Cook County Hospital and even the Medical Examiner's office to witness various medical procedures. Oy vey. Tom enjoyed these visits much more than me which is one of the reasons he became a doctor and I ended up in the advertising agency business. RIP my old friend.
