Thomas Widell Obituary

Thomas David Widell, 49, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2001 in Orange Park, FL. Mr. Widell was a resident of Jacksonville, FL for more than 20 years and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic church, Fleet Reserve, Branch 91 and the American Legion. He retired from the US Navy as a Chief Petty Officer in 1989 after 20 years of service. After his Navy career, he received his AS Degree in Nursing and worked as a Registered Nurse at Orange Park Medical Center and most recently at Putnam Behavioral Health Care in Palatka, FL. He was predeceased by his father, Harvey Widell in 1976; survived by his loving wife of 15 years, Lori Widell; son, Thomas David Widell II; daughters, Lindsay Nicole, Stephanie Ann, Angela Marie and Charlotte Elizabeth Widell; mother, Gladys Widell; sister, Shirley Shoemaker; two grandsons, Kyle and Keagan Lundgren; one granddaughter Haley, soon to make her appearance; and many other loving relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 20, 2001, 11 a.m. in the chapel of Jacksonville Memory Gardens Funeral Home, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL, with Msgr. Patrick Madden, celebrant. Friends may visit on Monday, March 19, 2001 from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
