Mr. Bogert was one of my best friend and mentor. I worked with this fine gentleman in Palmer House from 1982 - 1990 . Me and him started working in the Palmer House almost at the same time but due to his excellent and exemplary performance, he soon became our supervisor. Since, I was a newly arrived immigrant, he was a role model for me in so many ways and I learnt a lot from him. In those days I used to go to University of Illinois at Chicago in the morning and work in the Palmer House in the night shift. Sometimes I would ask him to proof read my college work and he gladly did it for me. There are simply too many fond memories about this gentleman and one is superior than the other. We used to have breakfast in the employee cafeteria with some big laughs and fun. Out of affection, he used to call me Bro Mo and we used to call him Bogman. Gone are those days but those sweet memories will always be remembered. May Almighty bless his soul and may he rest in peace.
If anyone knows at which cemetery is his gravesite, I would love to pay a visit whenever I am in Chicago.

Tim Bogert was the most innovative and talented bass player I ever saw. I'll never forget when I saw him play at the Cherry Hill Arena in South Jersey in 1972. I was starting my senior year in high school. He was playing with the original Cactus. I actually went to see Carmine. I know Tony Appice very well. We both attended Washington Twp. High School in South Jersey. But I could not divert my attention from Tim. What a showman! Best rock bassist ever. I have almost all their albums so though he may be missed, his talent will never be. My sincere condolences and prayers to him and his family.

Just learn of my old friend's passing. Tim and I worked together for many years, I seemed to be following in his footsteps. I was a uniformed security guard when Tim was Chief Guard. When he was promoted to store detective I was promoted to Chief Guard. Tim soon became a supervisor of detectives and I in turn became a store detective. We had many many stories together and often reminisced across the street at the Blackhawk. Tim loved music especially classical. I will remember the many good times we had together. Tim was simply but extraordinarily a gentleman. He had a good mind and could hold a conversation on a host of topics. Sadly, I went on to other jobs and we lost contact, but I will remember many good times.

I agree with the other fellow. Tim was a midnight supervisor at the Palmer House when I worked there between 1982 and 1984. Good guy, great sense of humor.

Tim was a not only a great, but a very loyal friend. He will always be remembered as an employee of Marshall Fields and the Palmer House Hotel. We tipped many of cold brews at the Blackhawk on Wabash and later at Miller's Pub. Tim was an excellent law enforcement employee who always did it by the book. If you were fortunate enough to have Tim as a friend you had a friend for life. He stood by his friends even when many abandoned him. My fondest memory?...way too many to have one...but I will always remember getting him involved with our Grant Park Tournament of Champions championship teams at the Palmer House...he pitched bp and coached third...his passion for softball is seen in the pictures I have of Tim waving home runners!...I was never told of Tim's passing....I miss him!

I've known Tim for 38 years. We worked together as teenagers in South Shore. Got together infrequently in later years, but stayed in touch via a mutual friend, Roger H.
Is passing is a loss.

I remember Tim as being a fine musician. We played in several of the bands at South Shore High together
