Dear family Roth,
What sad news! I hope that Wally didn't suffer too much at the end.
You are a strong family, that will hopefully help you to go through these difficult days.
I will never forget the time that I shared with you in Chicago and Michiana and of course in Roth!
And I will never forget the pleasure that he had in my garden that remind him of his childhood with all its fruits, trees and flowers.
I think of you all!

I am sorry for your loss. Please take comfort in Psalms 29:11, knowing that in difficult times like this, God gives peace and strength. DM

I felt a kinship with Walter Roth because we both were lawyers who turned to history and headed historical societies. Chicago will miss his research, his insights and his humanity. We all can be grateful for his impressive written legacy. My heart is filled with gratitude that I knew him, but I will miss him dearly. Gary T. Johnson, President, Chicago History Museum.
