William Faison Obituary

of LaGrange Park, IL passed away peacefully on Aug. 23rd at age 96. Son of the late William and Miriam (Ellison) Faison. Beloved brother of Sara (Hart) and predeceased sisters Miriam (Fabbri), Margery (Wilson) and brother Thomas. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Mary nee Currin. Devoted father of Robert (Amy) and daughter Mary Ann who preceded him in death. Loving grandfather of Carly and Celia. He was born in Chester, PA in 1920. He attended Swarthmore College and graduated from NC State with a Mech Engineering degree. WWII army vet. In 1949 he began a 34 year career at USS South Works as Safety Supervisor. An avid photog, he delighted and annoyed family members with his ever present camera. His interest in aviation led him to pilot his own small plane and become a member of the EAA. A memorial service will be held at 11am on 9/16/17 at First Congregational Church of Western Springs, 1106 Chestnut St., Western Springs, IL 60558. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Alzheimer's Association. 8430 W Bryn Mawr, Ste. 800, Chgo, IL 60631 are appreciated.

Mrs. Faison, Bob, Amy, Celia & Carly - Bill was an exceptional man. I always enjoyed visiting with him at Bethshan 2 - every Friday - like clockwork. His sense of humor and his charming demeanor were always fun. God bless you in your loss. ------------- Frea & Mike Mars
