William M. Gatti M.D.

William M. Gatti, M.D. passed away peacefully in the early morning of January 8th. He was 83. His final hours were spent surrounded by his loving wife of 57 years, Florence Long Gatti, M.D., and his four surviving children: John, Bill, Joanne, and Lauren. His six grandchildren, Olivia, Elena, Tony, Lorenzo, Lucas, and Lina loved their "Papa Nonno" deeply. His family and friends were the center of his life. He told wonderful stories, loved his alma mater, Notre Dame, and any holiday that could justify a party with a cake and balloons. An ear, nose, and throat surgeon, he practiced medicine for 43 years, first at Loyola University Medical Center and then in private practice in Libertyville. He was utterly devoted to his patients. Visitation is on Tuesday, January 18th from 9:00-10:15 a.m. at Kelley & Spalding Funeral Home, 1787 Deerfield Rd, Highland Park, IL. followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Patrick's, 991 Waukegan Rd, Lake Forest, IL (in the old church). Inurnment will be on January 19th at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Cemetery in Lake Forest.
