William Hathaway Obituary

William A. "Hatch" Hathaway Sr., age 75, of Manteno, IL passed away on Friday, Oct. 5, 2012 at Riverside Medical Center in Kankakee, IL. William was born on Feb. 13, 1937 in Chicago, IL to William and Lillian (Weissfis) Hathaway. He married Maureen O' Rourke on Oct. 8, 1960 in Bettendorf, IA. Mr. Hathaway served in the United States navy where he proudly served his country. He worked for the Norfolk and Western Railroad for over 30 years. William was a member of the Peotone Sportsmen's Club. He enjoyed fishing, the outdoors, cooking, and watching football (Green Bay Packers). He is survived by his wife, Maureen; three children, Bill (Frannie) Hathaway Jr. of Justice, IL, Laura (John) Hardesty of Peotone, IL, Dan Hathaway of Manteno, IL; three grandchildren, Amy Hardesty of Bourbonnais, IL, Sara Hardesty of Peotone, IL, Lauren Hathaway of Chicago, IL; and one great-grandchild, Emma Nicole of Bourbonnais, IL, He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; one brother; and dog, Pepper Hathaway. Cremation rites are being accorded by the Schreffler Life Story Funeral Homes.
