William Ishmael Obituary

William (Bill) Jack Ishmael, loving husband and father, passed away January 18, 2021. Born September 1, 1936, in Chicago, to Dorothy and Jack Ishmael, Bill graduated from Niles HS and attended Northwestern University. A talented artist and accomplished interior designer, Bill was featured throughout his career in local periodicals and was a proud member of NSID. Long-time resident of Lincoln Park, later his career took him to Grand Rapids, MI, and he retired to Tucson, AZ. Wherever he resided, his homes were designed with style, intention, and love where family and friends were always welcome. Known for his quick wit, creativity, ingenuity, kindness, sense of humor, and larger than life personality, he will be sorely missed by family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Susan, his son, Adam (Petrina), his daughter, Amy (John), his sister, Sue (Mike), his brother, Tony (Bernadette), his grandchildren, Shane, Jack, and Emma, and his loving nieces and nephews.

I was so sorry to hear in the Chicago Tribune that Bill had passed away. Bill was in my close group of friends at Niles Twp. H.S. and I even went to several dances with him. I am sorry I had not kept in better touch in more recent years. You have my deepest sympathy.
