William J. Kucera

1935 - 2022

William "Bill" J. Kucera, age 87, passed away November 21, 2022. He was born June 12, 1935 in Chicago to the late William and Lillian Kucera. Bill attended the University of Notre Dame where he received a B.S. in Metalurgy, and the University of Chicago, where he received his MBA in computer programming. He worked at Union Carbide for the Atomic Energy Commission, Stuart Oil Co., and Griffin Wheel Co. Survived by his beloved wife of 65 years, Blanche (nee Suva); loving father to Laura (Peter) Spinella, Melissa (Vin) Isaiah and William (Bonnie) Kucera; cherished grandfather of Emily and Kendall Kucera, Lou and Luca Spinella and Amada Isaiah; dear brother to Ronald (Camille) Kucera; and further survived by many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his daughter in infancy, Susan Mary and his brother Robert (the late Virginia) Kucera. A visitation will be held from 3 – 7 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2022 at Elmhurst Community Funeral Home – THE AHLGRIM CHAPEL, 567 South Spring Road, Elmhurst, with a Prayer Service beginning at 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be written to the American Heart Association, American Lung Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
