Wilmia Ramsey Obituary

Wilmia Capen Ramsey died peacefully at home on August 17, 2020. "Willie," daughter of Leo Jerome Capen and Gaynell Tyler Capen was born in Davenport, Iowa on October 9, 1921. She was a graduate of Pine Manor College and Northwestern University. She married Lon W. Ramsey and they moved to Wilmette, Illinois and later Winnetka where they raised their four children and spent the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Ramsey was an active volunteer and enjoyed spending time playing golf, listening to music and traveling the world with her husband. She especially loved spending time with her family and many friends. She will be remembered for her charming personality, enthusiasm, optimism and devotion to those she loved. Willie was preceded in death by her husband, Lon; and two of her children, Lon Jr. and Tyler. Survivors include children, Heather (John), Barton, seven grandchildren and eight grandchildren.
