ANN COOPER

Ann Cooper passed away Dec. 23, 2011, at home, with her husband by her side. Ann was born Oct. 29, 1933 to Paul and Mary Scalvini in Ferndale, CA.

Ann grew up in Ferndale until the age of 15, when her family moved to Willows in 1948. She graduated from Willows High School in 1951, and was a long time member of St. Monica YLI. Ann often enjoyed having coffee with her Murdock Street coffee group. She also loved playing cards with her friends, doing crafts, sewing, and gathering her granddaughers together to give them special instruction on how to bake the family receipes. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mary, and her brother, Vic Scalvini.

She is survived by her husband of 21 years of marriage, Earl Cooper; her brothers, John (Elsa) Scalvini, Louie (Paula) Scalvini, and a sister, Rena (Bud) Kinney; daughters, Edwina (Gene) Utt, Tina (Doug) Lavey, Sara (Rob) Mickiewicz and Kerri (Vernon) Chun; six granddaughers, Jennifer Chun, Elizabeth and Rachel Mickiewicz, Taylor and Colby Lavey and Shellie Hamilton. Ann is also survived by her step-children, Denny (Cathy) Cooper, Dan (Wendy) Cooper, Jackie (Rick) Galbraith, Val (Brian) Taylor, Vanessa Carter, Cindy (Mike) Pryor, Mike (Deann) Cooper; numerous step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

A Rosary will be recited at F.D. Sweet and Son Mortuary at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 28, 2011. Mass of a Christian Burial will be held at St. Monica's Catholic Church in Willows on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. Graveside services to follow at Willows Cemetery.

Memorial Contributions in Ann's name may be made to St. Monica's YLI Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 2002, Willows, CA 95988, or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the charity of your choice.
