AnnaMarie Cooper Obituary

COOPER, ANNAMARIE Born in Seattle, Washington and died peacefully at home in her sleep on July 29th at the age of 78. Daughter of Marie (Healy) and veterinarian Dr. Irwin Erickson. Attended Washington State University studying library science. Married high school sweetheart Harold Cooper in 1957. They lived in the US and England, settling in Chico in 1975. AnnaMarie worked for the law firm of Marshall Burghardt Kelleher and generously volunteered her time at The Discovery Shoppe and Butte County Library. She was a regular walker and bicyclist with her husband and friends in Bidwell Park, and loved living nearby. She was a fantastic cook and craftswoman, making hand-knitted sweaters, doll clothes, Halloween costumes , and delicious meals for every occasion. Mother of John, Mark and Paul Cooper and grandmother of Toni, Michael, Scott, Kyle, Colin and Erica Cooper. She is survived by three sisters and a brother. A memorial service will be held at 10 a,m. on Monday, August 4th at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Chico, CA. Contributions in her memory may be made to St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, The Discovery Shoppe, or Butte County Friends of the Library. She was a wonderful woman who had a great laugh and sense of humor, who was always there with a smile. I am so happy I had the chance of meeting Annamarie a few years ago through a mutual friend. I will always remember what a kind person she was and she made me feel like I had known her much longer every time I got the chance to talk to her. She will be dearly missed.
